KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- Algomi, the network company providing
information-matching solutions for the optimisation of fixed income
liquidity, has revealed the next step of its global expansion with the
recruitment of Jesper Bruun-Olsen as its Head of Asia-Pacific
operations.
Jesper will join immediately and is given the responsibility of establishing Algomi's APAC presence in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2015, expanding the Algomi Honeycomb network to facilitate APAC bond market liquidity, said Algomi in a statement issued today in London and Singapore.
Previously, Jesper was at Tradeweb from 2001 to 2012 as Managing Director of Asia-Pacific. Jesper was part of the earliest team that established Tradeweb in Europe, while in 2004 he was appointed to head up the company's expansion into APAC where he was initially based in Japan and later Hong Kong.
Most recently, he held the position of Managing Director at OANDA in the region.
"As the size of the APAC corporate bond market continues to grow significantly, we have also seen that there has been more emphasis placed on voice trading versus electronic.
"Algomi is well placed to help firms operating in APAC, and firms wanting to tap APAC market liquidity in their quest for increased velocity in regional bond markets," explained Jesper Bruun-Olsen in the same statement.
In November 2014, Stu Taylor took part in a Mayor of London and UK Trade & Investment global roadshow in Singapore and Malaysia, which aimed to help London headquartered SMEs export to overseas markets, and promoted London as a Fintech hub.
