Euromonitor New White Paper Studies Consumer Types
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- A new white paper entitled "7 Consumer
Types for Successful Targeted Marketing" released by Euromonitor
International has unearthed seven global consumer types.
Euromonitor International in a statement issued on Thursday in Chicago, United States available through BERNAMA said the seven were Undaunted Striver, Impulsive Spender, Balanced Optimist, Aspiring Struggler, Conservative Homebody, Independent Skeptic and Secure Traditionalist.
The white paper explored personality traits and buying behaviours of the global consumer types, focusing on their shopping habits, technology use, health and diet and green attitudes based on the data gathered from 16,000 online consumers globally.
"Consumer segmentation beyond demographics, and these seven global consumer types in particular, provide a strong starting point for businesses crafting marketing campaigns and strategic messaging.
"For instance, Aspiring Strugglers care deeply about how others perceive them, yet do not have the budget to buy the latest items.
"This makes them a lucrative target for brands and retailers offering affordable versions of on-trend products," explained Lisa Holmes, a survey analyst at Euromonitor.

Average Global Consumer Purchases 765 Calories Of Food Per Day - Euromonitor
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 (Bernama) — The world population buys 1.5 trillion calories a day, with the average global consumer purchasing 765 calories each day through packaged food and soft drinks, says market intelligence research firm, Euromonitor.
This calory figure seems low in comparison with the recommended global average for an adult, which is around 2000 calories, the firm said in a statement issued in London made available to BERNAMA.
As for countries in North America and Western Europe, Euromonitor said consumers purchase over 1500 calories per day while consumers in India purchase 150 calories and China 510 calories.
This findings are based on the amount of nutrients purchased per person per day through packaged food and soft drinks, said the statement.
Mexico buys the most calories a day with 1928 calories per person, 380 calories more than the United States, whereas Germany buys nearly twice as much fat per capita per day than Japan, and France purchases more calories from bread each day than India does from packaged food and soft drinks combined.
“Despite over 40 percent of the global population being overweight and obese, our data shows that by 2019 the world will purchase 90 calories more a day.
“Understanding how packaged food and soft drink brands contribute to the total purchase of nutrients by category and country helps address the rising concern of nutritional value in food,” said Lauren Bandy, nutrition analyst at Euromonitor in the same statement.
The data available in Euromonitor’s Passport allows companies and governments to understand consumers taste and food preferences around the world.
The nutrition database in Euromonitor’s Passport tracks energy, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates, sugar, salt, protein and fibre in 54 countries globally, the statement said.
