KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (Bernama) – The 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival is now accepting works from artists across the globe for four divisions: art, entertainment, animation and manga.
A statement from the Japan Media Arts Festival Executive Committee said it is open to all artists without distinction of professional, amateur, independent or commercial.
The works that are eligible are those that were completed or exhibited within a year before the deadline i.e. Oct 6, 2017-Oct 5, 2018.
Submission of entries is free of charge and must be given at http://festival.j-mediaarts.jp/en/entry/entry-guidelines/ by 6pm (Japan Standard Time), Oct 5.
A jury committee will select winners of the Grand Prize, Excellence Awards and New Face Awards. All awards, including the Special Achievement Awards and Jury Selections, will be announced in March 2019.
Each division winner will receive a trophy and prize money of up to 1,000,000 yen (RM1 = 3.74 yen) and have the opportunity to present their work at the Exhibition of Award-Winning Works in Tokyo in June 2019.
The Japan Media Arts Festival has been awarding prizes since 1997 and through the above-mentioned exhibition has offered the public an opportunity to directly appreciate the celebrated works and participate in related events such as symposia and artists' lectures.
