SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- Worldwide Holdings Berhad
(WHB) today handed over RM100,000 and medical equipment to Humanitarian Care
Malaysia Berhad (MyCare) and Aman Palestin-Malaysia for distribution to
hospitals and refugee camps in Gaza, Palestine and Syria.
WHB's chief executive officer, Datin Paduka Norazlina
Zakaria said the company would work with the two non-governmental organisations
(NGOs) in an effort to collect more funds for their humanitarian missions
"We will use donation boxes to collect funds and these
will be placed in our corporate office, sales offices, subsidiary companies,
project sites and property exhibition centres and WHB service centres,"
she said at the handing over of the contributionS here, today.
At the same event, WHB donated surgical suture medical
device products brand Vesti, an output of WHB's subsidiary, totalling RM10,000
to the medical faculty in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), and Universiti
Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). The Medical Faculty of Management and Science
University (MSU), and Universiti Mahsa also received the same devices worth
RM5,000 each.
Norazlina said four local hospitals, Kuala Lumpur Hospital,
Selayang Hospital, Serdang Hospital and Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang
also received equipment worth RM10,000 each.
WHB also contributed RM50,000 to Raja Tun Uda Library for
the purchase of educational books for public use, especially students,"
she said.
