KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Mori Building Co Ltd and teamLab, the jointly operators of ‘MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: teamLab Borderless’ celebrated the museum’s first anniversary on June 21.
The museum was created based on the concept of borderless, experiential exhibits that interact physically with visitors. It enables visitors to interact with each other in unique ways, leaving them with a sense of awe and deeply emotional impressions.
During its first year, the museum has attracted some 2.3 million visitors from more than 160 countries, similar to other leading museums in Japan, according to a statement.
Since the launch, the volume of visitors to Tokyo’s waterfront area, including Odaiba, greatly increased. The museum has also broadened the scope of customers, helping to stimulate retail activity along the entire waterfront.
Aomi Station on the Yurikamome Line, the nearest rail station, has welcomed 50 per cent more visitors while VenusFort, an adjacent retail complex has reported its visitation increase by 20 per cent, compared to last year.
