SINGAPORE, Aug 12 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE)-- Euromonitor International and Retail Asia are proud to announce the launch of the 12th edition of the Retail Asia Top 500 Retailers Ranking. In 2014, the region’s top 500 retailers grew by 2 percent in current value terms to top US$1 trillion in sales with Chinese companies dominating the list, accounting for 32 percent of the ranking.
According to Euromonitor’s retailing market research, while internet retailing still remains a key channel witnessing strong growth of almost 30 percent in 2014, brick and mortar stores are increasingly embracing an Omni channel strategy to meet consumer expectations. Mobile sales, in particular, are expected to grow faster than overall online sales as consumers bypass traditional desktops for smartphones to access the internet.
